Bearded
Dragon Thermostat Definition
A thermostat is s tool
that keeps the environmental temperature at a desired range. The
desired temperature is either pre-set or can be manually
changed. Thermostats uses a probe to "detect" the environmental
temperature, where it is then used to either activate or
deactivate heat regulation sources. Thermostats can either be
digital or manual.
Bearded Dragon
Thermostat Function
Most thermostats will only
be activated when the environmental temperature is below the
desired temperature. I.e. if the desired temperature is 30 °C /
86 °F and the environmental temperature is 20 °C / 68 °F, the
heat source will be activated until the desired temperature is
reached.
More advanced thermostats
have more than one function. Most can activate a heat source at
low temperatures and activate cooling sources when the
temperature gets too high.
