Bearded Dragon
Dusting
Bearded dragons supplementation can either be done via
gut
loading or so-called dusting or sprinkling. Bearded dragon
dusting is the process where insects are coated with a powdered
supplement. This can be done by shaking the live insects in a
plastic bag or smallish container with a pinch or two of the
supplement.
Bearded Dragon
Sprinkling
Sprinkling is the process where the greens are sprinkled with a
liquid supplement. Supplementation con be done by any one of the
two methods or by combining them. Dusting and sprinkling should
be done just prior to feeding insects or greens to Bearded
dragon.
The main supplement that is used for dusting and sprinkling is
probably calcium. Calcium can be given in combination with
vitamin D3 to improve its absorption and should be given two to
three times a week.
Powdered and liquid Bearded dragon supplementation are available
form most specialized reptile pet shops.
